President Obama has an army of special advisers, and many feel that these appointed czars threaten our democracy.  What most do not realize is that the administration's team of special advisers, or "czars", operate free from congressional oversight.

In March 2008, presidential candidate Barack Obama said "The biggest problems that we're facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all.  And that's what I intend to reverse when I'm president of the United States."  Right now President Obama has more czars in powerful positions than any other President in U.S. History, despite his campaign promise.  

Many of the special adviser's earn six-figure salaries, and enjoy bureaucratic authority without Congressional oversight.  I will be writing more about this subject in the next few days, but would like to know your feedback and how you feel about the Czars in power.
